Surroundings

There is much to discover, experience and see in and around Wulpenweid. Wulpenweid is located between the two villages of Den Burg and De Koog on the edge of the forest. The dunes and beach can be reached on foot within 20 minutes. The nearest pavilion (Paal 17 near Ecomare) can be reached on foot within 30 minutes.

In de directe omgeving

Wulpenweid Texel is well accessible by public transport. With the small buses of Texelhopper (note, you must book these in advance!) you get off in front of our door at stop 'Camping De Bonte Koe'. Check the website of Texelhopper .

Would you like to explore the island by bicycle? Opposite Wulpenweid Texel you will find Werner's fietsverhuur. Here you can rent various (electric) bicycles.

Groceries & fresh sandwiches

A Spar vacation supermarket is located 1.5 kilometers from our park. This small but complete supermarket is located on the Grensweg at Dennenoord campsite. If you appreciate fresh sandwiches being delivered in the morning, “Broodjes service Texel” offers a solution. Online you can order the most delicious sandwiches that will be delivered to your door the following morning. Of course you can also get your fresh sandwiches yourself at the Spar supermarket or at Brasserie Beers, which is within walking distance.

Eating out

For a quick lunch or fancy dinner, there are several restaurants nearby.

At Dennenoord campsite there is a spacious brasserie with a lovely terrace and playground for the children.
Catharinahoeve at the end of the Grensweg is a household name on Texel to sit down and enjoy a pancake or a modest but excellent meal. Catharinahoeve also has a large playground to keep the children entertained.
For guests who appreciate culinary indulgence, we have Brasserie Beers on the Grensweg (1.2 kilometers from our park).
The Worsteltent on the Rozendijk was transformed last year into a cozy Italian restaurant offering delicious pasta.
Also well worth a visit is Restaurant BOSQ, a culinary restaurant just a 10-minute bike ride away.
If you are in the mood for a snack or small dish you can have a great time at our neighbors at Camping the Bremakker.
Of course, a visit to beach pavilion Paal 17 is not to be forgotten during your vacation. In short, many possibilities within walking distance.

Things to see and do on the island

As host and hostess of the Wulpenweid, Marcel, and Anousjka have experienced many tourist attractions themselves to be able to properly inform the guests of the Wulpenweid. Feel free to ask Marcel and Anousjka for advice on suitable day trips.

Bike tour along the products of Texel. Buy your bread at Novalishoeve, and top it with a piece of cheese from the Wezenspyk or a fresh strawberry from the Reuze aardbei. Have your lunch in the woods or at one of the "pick-up" spots elsewhere, such as at Ice Cream Farm Labora. Don't forget to try the flavor "Strawberry Knoert" before you leave.
Juttersmuseum Flora. From the Wulpenweid you can already spot the wheelhouse of former ferry Schulpengat. Immerse yourself in this museum along with history, stories, and information. Former skipper Schagen can tell you all about the ins and outs of TESO in the wheelhouse.
Climb the lighthouse, feel the bullet holes in the old wall, and walk the vast beach.
Walk around the nature reserves of Slufter and the Muy. Wear boots and keep an eye on the tide.... High tide can overtake you here!
Ecomare. Admire the marine life in the Wadden Sea and the North Sea. From the lugworm to the sperm whale! Don't be surprised, just be amazed....
TX 10 and TX 20. Do you love shrimp? If so, sail along with skippers Herman or Robert Frido and learn about life in the Wadden Sea. Take a bag of fresh shrimp with you and peel them yourself. On a toast with some cocktail sauce, you have a fresh snack. Bon appetit!!!
Parachuting or a sightseeing flight over Texel. In the mood for an adrenaline rush? Fly along with Jan Boyen (Boeing) Rienks and drop from a plane a few kilometers above Texel. Experience the serenity when the chute opens or experience Texel from the air with a sightseeing flight over Texel and the beautiful Wadden area.

Relax and unwind at Wellness Garden Wulpenweid

The Wellness Garden Wulpenweid is located in our yard. Before or during your stay you can reserve time blocks of 2 hours per day to relax and use the barrel sauna and/or jacuzzi.
